Love Island’s resident posh boy Chuggs Wallis has previous experience on reality TV – after landing a guest spot on Made in Chelsea.
The 23-year-old bucket hat entrepreneur tried his luck getting onto the E4 reality series back in 2019, joining in on a speed dating scene.
Wearing a smart blue shirt and a shy smile, Chuggs was seen trying to chat up a woman whose back was to the camera in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.
Clearly his charm didn’t work on the leading ladies of the show, as he wasn’t seen again.
That didn’t stop eagle-eyed fans managing to spot him though – and quickly shared the grab of him online after catching him out.
“So Chuggs was on Made In Chelsea speed dating in 2019!” one declared alongside a photo.
Chuggs isn’t the only star connected to the long-running Made In Chelsea, which has been on the air for the past 10 years.
Aaron Francis, one of the first islanders of this year’s series, is actually cousins with Hugo Taylor, an original MIC cast member.
He appeared on the show for three seasons before leaving at the end of 2012. These days, he’s married to fellow MIC star Millie Mackintosh, and the couple are expecting their second child later this year.
Chuggs is definitely a well-connected member of the Love Island gang – with two of his castmates this year admitting they knew him before entering the villa.
Hugo Hammond went to Oxford Brookes university at the same time as Chuggs, and it’s been reported in a case of deja-vu, they were once even love rivals.
Chloe Burrows, who eventually chose Hugo over Chuggs in the latest recoupling, also said that she knew him but didn’t elaborate on when she met him.
Now, Chuggs has a fight on his hands to remain on Love Island, with new girl Rachel Finni his last hope of keeping his place in the villa.
Rachel was revealed as the newest bombshell on Friday, and was told she had 24 hours to pick between the remaining two single men – Chuggs, and Brad McClelland.
Whoever remains single after her choice risks getting dumped from the villa, so in tonight’s episode, he’s got to get his graft on.
But Rachel is clearly one smart cookie, and immediately grills him about his intentions on trying to talk to her, wondering if he just wanted to stay, or had genuine interest.
It seems he might actually have a spark with her though, and later in the Beach Hut, Chuggs tells cameras: “She’s got this energetic strike in her. She hits you with this electricity. I can definitely see myself getting on with her so well.”
Will it be enough to keep him around?
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
